Store Compass performs the commerce
analysis, evidence evaluation, weekly recommendations, action guidance, recommendation history,
and outcome measurement on its hosted service.

Once connected, Store Compass menu items in wp-admin securely open the corresponding hosted Store
Compass dashboard view. The plugin also displays connection status and can display the current
weekly recommendation in WordPress admin when that data is available from the service.

What this plugin does

Adds Store Compass navigation to wp-admin - Home, Weekly Brief, Actions, Results, Weekly History,
and Settings.

Uses WooCommerce's built-in application authorization screen. The merchant reviews and approves
read-only access in their own WordPress admin; Store Compass never receives the WordPress
administrator password.

Connects to the hosted Store Compass service to retrieve connection status, recommendations, and
secure dashboard access.

Keeps storefront pages untouched: the connector registers no Store Compass scripts or styles on
customer-facing pages.

Local data stored by this plugin

The WordPress plugin stores one plugin-generated connection token in wp_options and a short-lived
connection-status transient. It does not store WooCommerce orders, products, billing details,
shipping details, or customer records in the WordPress plugin itself.

External services

Store Compass Connector relies on the Store Compass hosted service operated by Digitribe Media.
The hosted service is required for the connector's core functionality; the recommendation engine
and merchant dashboard do not run locally inside this WordPress plugin.

Service provider: Digitribe Media
Service: https://digitribemedia.com/store-compass/
Privacy Policy: https://digitribemedia.com/store-compass/privacy/
Terms of Service: https://digitribemedia.com/store-compass/terms/

Data sent directly by the WordPress connector

When an authorized administrator opens Store Compass in wp-admin, the connector may send the
site hostname and its plugin-generated connection token to the Store Compass status API. The raw
plugin token is sent only in an Authorization header; Store Compass stores only a SHA-256 hash of
that plugin token.

When an administrator starts or regenerates a connection, the connector sends the site's URL and
a SHA-256 hash of its plugin token to the Store Compass connection flow. The merchant is then
redirected to WooCommerce's own authorization screen.

When a connected merchant opens a Store Compass dashboard section, the plugin retrieves a signed
dashboard link from Store Compass and redirects the administrator to the corresponding hosted
Store Compass dashboard view.

WooCommerce data accessed by the Store Compass hosted service

If the merchant approves WooCommerce's authorization screen, WooCommerce sends Store Compass a
read-only Consumer Key and Consumer Secret. Store Compass verifies those credentials and uses them
to read the WooCommerce REST API resources needed for decision support.

The current integration reads WooCommerce orders and products. Store Compass uses commerce fields
such as order identifiers, statuses, dates, currency, order totals, discounts, line-item counts,
product names, product status, categories, descriptions, images, SKU, price, and stock quantity to
calculate commerce metrics and recommendations.

WooCommerce order API responses can include billing, shipping and other customer-identifying
information by default. Store Compass deliberately excludes customer names, billing and shipping
addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, customer IDs and customer IP addresses from its
canonical decision data and does not create per-customer records for recommendation processing.

Store Compass does not automatically change products, orders, prices, inventory or other store
settings through this WooCommerce connection. The WooCommerce authorization scope is read-only.

For full information about data handling, retention, merchant rights and Store Compass service
terms, see the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service links above.

Install and activate WooCommerce.

Install and activate Store Compass Connector.

Open Store Compass from the WordPress admin menu and click "Connect to Store Compass".

Review the WooCommerce authorization screen and approve read-only access if you want to connect.

Does this slow down my storefront?

The connector is designed to be admin-only. Store Compass does not enqueue its plugin assets on
customer-facing storefront pages.

Does Store Compass receive my WordPress password?

No. Connection approval happens through WooCommerce's built-in application authorization flow.
Store Compass receives the WooCommerce API credentials created by that flow, not the merchant's
WordPress password.

What permissions does Store Compass request from WooCommerce?

Read-only access. Store Compass uses it to retrieve the commerce information needed to calculate
metrics and recommendations. It does not use this connection to automatically edit the store.

Does the WordPress plugin store my orders or customer data locally?

No. The connector stores only its own connection token and a temporary connection-status cache in
WordPress. Commerce analysis happens on the hosted Store Compass service as described in the
External services section above.

What happens if I delete the plugin?

Deleting the plugin removes the connector's local token and status cache from WordPress. Removing
the WordPress plugin is separate from disconnecting the hosted Store Compass connection. To stop
Store Compass from using an active WooCommerce API credential, disconnect/revoke the connection
through the applicable Store Compass or WooCommerce connection controls.

1.1.3

Prepared the connector for WordPress.org review: documented the Store Compass hosted service and
data flow, aligned publisher metadata with Digitribe Media, moved admin CSS to an enqueued asset,
added WordPress privacy-policy guidance, and hardened external dashboard redirects.

1.1.2

Updated "Tested up to" to the current WordPress version.

1.1.1

Store Compass now runs on its own branded domain instead of a generic hosting URL - no merchant
action needed.

1.1.0

Added Store Compass navigation for Home, Weekly Brief, Actions, Results, Weekly History and
Settings.

Fixed a broken "Visit plugin site" link on the Plugins list page.

1.0.0

Initial release: connect flow, weekly recommendation display, connection regeneration.

Connects WooCommerce to the Store Compass hosted decision-support service operated by Digitribe Media.
["GET
